We’re looking for an EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR!

Who we are

MCIE is a volunteer, not-for-profit, organization run for and by its members. Its membership consists of public and private educational institutions that teach international students in Manitoba, from pre-Kindergarten through to post-doc. As an organization, MCIE is committed to:

-Strengthening international education in Manitoba

-Enhancing the international student experience in the province

-Providing professional development opportunities for its members

-Supporting the marketing and recruitment efforts of its members

-Educating the Manitoba community on the many benefits generated by international students in the province

 

Role

Executive Director

MCIE is looking for a contracted part-time Executive Director (ED). Reporting to the President and by extension to the Executive committee of MCIE, the ED is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization. Other key duties include fundraising, including the preparation of proposals for projects and funding, communications, public relations, as well as governance. The work of the Executive Director will be done remotely until it is safe to return to in-person meetings; at that time, the successful applicant will be expected to be located in Manitoba. This seasoned leader works well independently and has significant experience in the field of public and private international education.

Expected qualifications, skills, and experience:

-A post-secondary degree.

-Significant (five (5) year or more) experience in international education

-Demonstrated knowledge in proposal writing for project fundraising

-Thorough understanding of the public and private education sector

-Transparent and high integrity leadership

-High level strategic thinking and planning

-Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal skills

-Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite

-Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative approach to business planning

-Solid organizational abilities, as well as financial management skills

-Strong work ethic with a high degree of energy

Desirable skills

-Bilingual (English and French) an asset

-A working knowledge of WordPress website management an asset

Applicants must provide an expression of interest, which includes the following:

-Summary of experience, qualifications and abilities that relate to this role

-Description of their interest in this contract and how they are suitable for it

-Confirmation that they will be able to provide necessary office infrastructure and human resources to meet the requirements outlined in the Contracted Services

We will be accepting expressions of interest for those wishing to be considered for this contract until January 21, 2021, or until the position has been filled (whichever comes first).

Further information will be provided after an initial assessment of potential candidates and a request for proposal will be sent ahead of an invitation to the second round of evaluation.

Interviews will be conducted virtually.
